Entry from: Da Lat, Vietnam Entry Title: "1500m above sea level in the Central Highlands" Entry: "My faith in discovering a more natural Vietnam has been restored! Our 5 hour bus ride from Nha Trang to Da Lat ended up taking 6.5 hours, thanks to the two long breaks we had, the bus never going over 60km when on the open road (not that that's a bad thing around here!) and the incredibly winding road for the second half of the journey. We had front row seats and the suspension (or whatever) was so crazy in this bus that for the entire journey, I felt like I was sitting on the edge of a bouncy castle and some kid was bouncing away inside the castle behind me! We were munching on Oreo cookies, and at one stage I offered Alan another one to which he replied "Yes please. The last ones have compacted down thanks to the bouncing, so there's room for more!" Da Lat is a town in the Central Highlands, about 1500m above sea level. This means that it's definitely cooler -- but very pleasant. In the morning, there is crispness in the air, but it warms up during the day. Nights are a bit cool but comfortably so. The best thing about Da Lat? Everyone is so friendly! First and foremost, we have walked around the town for the last day and a half, and have been very rarely interrupted by someone trying to sell us ...
